Landermere – the Kings Head pub and the fishermen’s cottages opposite – was bought by the Henderson family in 1954, and there have been Hendersons there ever since. It’s an amazing place and many of us have such great memories and shared experiences – I’m hoping this will be a nice place to keep them alive.
If you’d like to send me a memory or photo to publish – please contact me at nellmead@hotmail.com. Thanks!
Hi, dont know if you check this anymore, but I’ve just found your post on Landermere. My grandmother Lily Thompson was born in Gull cottage in 1912 and lived there with her 2 brothers. I have a couple of photos taken of her brother Sidneys wedding taken outside the Kings Head, and one of my great grandmother taken outside the cottage. i dont know which cottage it was though.
This is wonderful, thank you Clodagh! I know very little about Landermere before my family moved here – would it be possible to see your photos and put them up on the site?
Hello, yes, of course. Where can i email them too?
Clodagh
Hi I had a friend who lived in 8 Gull Cottages Thorpe-le-Soken, which I take to be the same place, in the 1970s. His name was Dick Mayhew. I wondered if you knew him and what happened to him.
